Smoke Alarms

Online Enquiry powered by ServiceM8

Working smoke alarms are critical for the early detection of a fire.

They are also legally required in homes in Queensland.

From 1 January 2022, all homes sold or leased and existing lease renewals require photoelectric, interconnected smoke alarms.

Existing smoke alarms more than 10 years old and faulty smoke alarms must be replaced with photoelectric smoke alarms that comply with Australian Standard 3786–2014.

Existing hardwired smoke alarms must be replaced with a hardwired photoelectric smoke alarm.

Mark from Preferred Electrical SEQ has extensive experience installing new smoke alarms and replacement smoke alarms in homes and investment properties in South East Queensland.

He also does smoke alarm testing and Certificates of Test and Compliance.

Call Preferred Electrical SEQ today to check that your smoke alarms are safe and compliant with Queensland smoke alarm legislation.

What are the benefits of an interconnected smoke alarm?

One goes off, they all go off.

This could give you or your tenants extra time to escape the house in the event of a fire.
